Great Movie Quotes

There are some movie quotes that have become so popular they are entwined in the fabric of our culture.  For instance, who doesn't hear Arnold Schwarzeneggar's voice when we here, "I'll be back."  How about this one, "Say Hello to my little friend."  We've all heard them and it's nearly impossible to hear those lines spoken without seeing the scene played out in our own heads.

Because quotes have such power, I think they are perfect whether used to add a bit of color into conversation or to really drive home a point with impact.  The hard part is finding just the right quote for the right moment. 

I recently read somewhere that one of the qualities of successful couples is time for conversation.  I happen to agree with that.  I think it's true deep conversations that help to form bonds and develop those relationships.  In a world where there is more ways to communicate then ever, it seems quantity has often replaced quality.  I think it's the quality of the dialogue that makes me love my favorite movie.  A movie with some of the best lines of all time.

"When you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible."  Billy Crystal as Harry from When Harry Met Sally said those lines.  Misty and Bjoern used that quote on their wedding programs.  When I saw the program I chuckled as I recognized the quote from my favorite movie.

The quote seemed perfect as Misty and Bjoern's wedding was all about great conversation.  An intimate group all seated at a long table.  No large stage productions planned but rather plenty of sofas and chairs to encourage people to gather and talk.

So as I think back to Misty and Bjoern's wedding, that's what I'll remember most, a great quote from a great movie that perfectly captures how they feel about each other.
